It is a great pleasure that we present you with the electronic version of the journal The Annual of Language & Politics and Politics of Identity. This project was primarily developed by a research group of PhD. students in the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University in Prague from the Institute of Political Studies who have been conducting extensive research on the widely discussed topic of language policy in all its aspects. Later on – a range of articles on various implications of language and politics as well as political identity has been prepared by authors and members of wider research group. The Annual is thus an expression of an interdisciplinary approach of authors from an international academic scene. Moreover, it provides a ground for young scholars to publish their research papers in this journal together with distinguished professors.
The main goal of the electronic version is to provide readers with relevant information on matters pertaining to language policy around the globe in more available e-form.
We have tried to improve our publication by undertaking several small changes that we hope you will appreciate. We have broadened the spectrum of topics and viewpoints; improved the quality and expertise of the articles and tried to make the reader’s experience more enjoyable. Due to the broad range of topics in the publication each particular contribution has been reviewed by two academic members of our editorial board and other academics from Institute of Political Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University, Prague.
We sincerely hope that you will enjoy this electronic version as well as the possibility to receive the paper version upon demand. We also welcome your opinions, ideas and contributions to future volumes of our annual publication.
We wish you an enjoyable and challenging read
Yours faithfully,
